Editorial Policy
Last updated
Resin Ledger exists to help homeowners make water softener decisions from traceable evidence. We prioritize usefulness, accuracy, model-specific boundaries, and transparent uncertainty over search traffic, word count, advertising opportunities, or commercial relationships.
Sources
We prefer primary and authoritative sources: government guidance, official standards information, live certification databases, manufacturer performance sheets, and exact model manuals. Important numerical or safety-related claims should identify their source and consultation date.
Secondary sources may help identify a question but do not replace the primary source when one is reasonably available. We do not copy retailer descriptions, forum settings, or a similar model's instructions into a universal recommendation.
Calculations and original resources
Calculators must publish their formulas, units, assumptions, validation cases, error states, and limitations. Worksheets and comparison tables distinguish source values from calculated values and user-entered values. Unknown values stay blank.
Authorship and review
Every article has a named human editor responsible for publication. Byline and reviewer profiles describe actual roles and verifiable backgrounds. Technical review is required when a page covers controller programming, performance data, formulas with purchasing implications, maintenance chemicals, service diagnosis, or other higher-risk instructions.
A review label is added only after the named person has reviewed the specified version and the review date, scope, findings, and corrections are recorded.
AI-assisted work
We may use AI-assisted tools for research organization, outlining, drafting, consistency checks, metadata, and calculation QA. AI does not perform physical testing, hold professional credentials, inspect an installation, or replace accountable human review. We disclose the process where a reader would reasonably expect to know how the material was produced.
Commercial independence
Advertising, affiliate compensation, sponsorships, samples, or business relationships do not buy a favorable conclusion or remove a safety limitation. Material connections are disclosed clearly and close to the relevant endorsement or link. Paid placement is not presented as editorial ranking.
Updates and corrections
Pages carry publication and substantive review dates. Dates are changed only when the content receives meaningful review or revision. Correction requests follow our Corrections Policy. Material corrections describe what changed and when.
What we will not publish
- fabricated tests, ownership, quotations, credentials, reviews, or measurements;
- a model setting or procedure generalized without evidence;
- a certification claim that cannot be matched to an exact current listing;
- a health, potability, contaminant-removal, savings, or lifespan guarantee;
- copied or lightly rewritten content created mainly to display ads;
- internal electrical, pressurized valve, or plumbing repair presented as generic owner guidance; or
- content that cannot pass its assigned safety or technical review.
