Submit a correction
Use the Contact page and include:
- the page URL and section;
- the statement or calculation in question;
- why it may be wrong or outdated;
- a primary or first-party source when available; and
- whether the issue could create an immediate safety or water-quality risk.
Our review process
- Preserve the submitted report and current page version.
- Recheck the exact source, model, date, units, formula, and scope.
- Escalate technical, legal, privacy, or safety questions to an appropriate reviewer.
- Correct supported errors and update affected worksheets, tests, claims registers, and internal links.
- Record material changes on the page.
Correction labels
- Minor edit: grammar, formatting, or a link update that does not change meaning.
- Clarification: wording changed to make scope or uncertainty clearer.
- Correction: a factual, numerical, source, or model error changed.
- Safety update: guidance changed because the previous version could create risk.
- Retraction: the page cannot be supported and is removed from publication/indexing pending review.
Material records should state the date, prior issue, correction, and reviewer. The page's “last reviewed” date changes only after substantive work.
